House of Niches

Completed project- 2022

Area: 4000 Sq.ft

The key idea for this project was to remain strongly rooted in its 20 years of existence and evolve the design of the spaces to its contemporary version. The charm and quaintness of the existing structure are the major muse of inspiration for the design process. This renovation majorly depicted the concept of traditional floral motifs as well as moulding exiting multiple niches to its ethnic version.

The entry foyer of the residence is molded to an ivory-hued space with a triad of huge arched openings and a combination of pointed arched niches that evolved from the existing niches beneath. A subtle touch of pastel pink highlighter wall with an existing pergola skylight flushes in the vibrant morning sun and amps up the complete vibe of the entry. Lighting fixtures which are clear glass made, add a pop of bling to this minimal yet very cosy entry foyer. The flooring of green marble with a floral inlay motif is retained which adds to the aesthetics of this space.

Moving on to the next space, the parent’s bedroom encompasses a traditional touch of mustard-hued wall covering on a massive arched bed back wall, complemented by mood lighting and glass bowl hanging lamps on both sides.
This project evolved a design sensibility to take the traditional aesthetics one step ahead and optimize the planning of spaces.
